The first ferry in the morning from Malta departs usually at 5:00am while the fist from Pozzallo to Malta leaves at 8:30am. The last ferry from Malta usually leaves before 7:00pm, so if you are planning on a 1 day visit, know that you have to be back in time or you’ll must spend the night on the island.

The ferry La Valletta Gozo instead, in managed by the ferry company Virtu Ferries Gozo and it is the fastest ferry that cover this route. The port of arrival is Mgarr, which can be reached in less than 45 minutes with Gozo Highspeed. Ferries to Gozo runs about 10 times per day with additional evening departures Saturday and Sunday. The first ferry leaves form Mgarr at 5:45am and reach la Valetta at 6:30am, leaving again at 6:45am to be back in Mgarr at 7:30am. The last one from Mgarr leaves at 21:15 weekdays and 22:45 during weekends.

🚗 Vehicles
Both ferries to Pozzallo and to Gozo, leaves and arrives to Gran Harbour in La Valetta port. If you leave from Pozzallo to Malta with your vehicle you will be pleased to know that the ferries are given ample garages where you can travel with your car, motorcycle, bicycle or camper. Inside there is also an area designated for cargo vehicles. There are absolutely no restrictions on the amount of personal luggage you can take in the car, sports equipment and pets included.
If you are planning to add a stop in Gozo, you will need to leave your car on the island of Malta. The Highspeed ferry does not carry any type of vehicle except bicycles which can be board for free.

NB: On each ferry from Malta to Gozo are allowed 9 bicycles, so if you want to explore the island by bike we recommend booking well in advance so you can secure a space in the bike rack.

🍴 Bars and entertainment
On board the ferries from Pozzallo to Malta you will find various facilities including Hybleum, the on-board store, perfect for buying a last minute souvenir from Malta! Slot machines, cafeterias and bars where hot and cold drinks are served. Crayons and coloring materials are available for free from the crew for you child. On board the ferries to Gozo, you will find the typical amenities of fast vehicles: a small bar, bathrooms and outdoor area.

🐾 Pets
Passengers must declare that they are traveling with pets when booking and must ensure that the pets have a valid pet passport as well as all necessary vaccination certificates and other documents.
At the time of boarding, passengers must also inform the ship's crew that they are transporting pets. If you are traveling from Sicily to Malta, you will be able to choose to have your pet travel in the on-board kennels; you can add this option at check-in upon availability if you have not done so before. Alternatively, you can leave your pet comfortably in the car with the windows compulsorily rolled down, or on the outside decks in the areas reserved for them, always on a leash.
If your pet is small and travels inside the carrier, it can also stay with you in the areas inside the ship.
On board the fast ferry from Malta to Gozo, pets can only travel next to the owner and have to be on a leash the all trip. Passengers can take up 2 pets on the ferry.

🧳Luggage
Luggage regulations vary depending on the route booked, this is crucial to take into consideration if you are planning to visit both islands taking your luggage with you. On the ferries from Pozzallo to Malta and vice versa, there are no luggage restrictions if you are traveling by car, while if you are traveling on foot, you can take a maximum of 3 pieces of luggage with you. Each piece of luggage must not exceed H 50 cm x W 40 cm x L 80 cm.
On the fast ferries to Gozo, each passenger can bring only 1 piece of luggage H 50 cm x W 40 cm x L 80 cm.
