Pesaro is a port city located in the Marche region along the Adriatic Sea. It blends green headlands and long shorelines of white sandy beaches.

The city was founded by the Romans and several occupations followed.
During the Renaissance, the city of Pesaro experienced its economic, commercial and architectural bloom.

In the 15ᵉ century, city life was mainly related to port activities, and at that time Pesaro was one of the most important ports on the Adriatic along with Ancona and Ravenna.

The Foglia River is the waterway that enabled the creation of the port. It is a canal port at the mouth of the river.

The port area consists of two parallel docks and also serves as a terminal for passenger ferries and cruise ships.

Don't waste time and take a bike ride, as Pesaro has the most extensive network of bike paths in Italy.

Of course, it is also a beach destination; more than 7 kilometers of coastline are at your disposal, from sandy beaches to fully equipped resorts. You can choose between beaches overlooking the sea (Baia di Vallugola) or long stretches of sand with shallow waters (Chalet a Mare). Many of them receive the “Blue Flag” seal of approval every year.

Stroll through the park at Piazzale delle Libertà. Here you can admire one of the symbols of the city: “the Big Sphere,” a sphere-shaped metal sculpture representing the union between man and nature.

By car you will have to take the A14 highway with the Pesaro-Urbino exit. By train, the train station is about 2km from the port; you can reach it on foot or with the available cab service.
